The Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji is being celebrated with great reverence and pomp all across the country on 12th February. The 648th Maha Parv of Satguru Ravidas Ji is being celebrated with reverence on 12th February by Guru Ravidas Educational and Charitable and different institutions of Jalandhar. Due to the Prakash Utsav of Guru Ravidas Maharaj, the Nakodar route will remain closed for 3 days.
On the occasion of the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, a grand procession will be taken out by the Sangat on 11th February, due to which people will have to use the route diversion.
On 9th February, devotees will leave for the darshan of Guru Ravidas Ji at 3 pm in Begampura Express under the leadership of Sant Niranjan Das Ji. The train will leave from Varanasi at 3 pm on 13th February. All the arrangements have been made for the Sangat. A total of 50 big tents have been set up and langar has been arranged.
On the occasion of Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Ravidas ji, a state level function is being organized on 12th February at Shri Guru Ravidas Bhawan Nakodar Road. For this, a procession is being taken out in the city on 11th February.
For this, the traffic police have issued a route plan. Vehicles will have to use the diverted routes. Like every year, this year also the traffic police have made strong arrangements for the safety of the devotees coming to the fair.
The procession will start from Satguru Ravidas Dham Boota Mandi and will pass through different places including Guru Ravidas Chowk, Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Milap Chowk, Basti Adda and will conclude at the Dham located at Boota Mandi.
Devotees will reach the procession not only from the state but also from the country and abroad. The managers have completed the preparations.
Diverted routes:
From 10th to 12th February, all vehicles and passenger buses going from Jalandhar city to Nakodar-Shahkot side will use Sutlej Chowk, Samra Chowk, Kul Road, Traffic Signal Lights Urban Estate Phase-2-CT Institute via Pind Pratappura-Nakodar route. Badala Chowk via Shri Guru Ravidas Chowk, Nakodar Chowk Road will remain completely closed for all types of vehicular traffic.
Routes for heavy vehicles:
Vehicles will be parked on both sides of Rama Mandi Nakodar Road, Layalpur Khalsa C.S. School, Mata Rani Chowk Model House side and BSNL Exchange from Manbro Chowk.
According to the traffic police, on 11th February, from 8 am to 10 pm, on 12th February, from 7 am to 4 pm, all buses and heavy vehicles coming from Jalandhar to Kapurthala will go via P.A.P. Chowk via Kartarpur-Kapurthala route instead of Nakodar Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk via Basti Baba Khel route.
Two-wheelers and cars coming from Kapurthala side via Basti Bawa Khel can use Kapurthala Chowk via Workshop Chowk, Maqsudan Chowk-National Highway route. In case of traffic related problems, people can contact the traffic police helpline number 0181-2227296.
