There is a possibility of increase in temperature in Punjab in the coming days. The temperature of all the cities of Punjab has crossed 20 degrees. Compared to the previous day, an increase of 1.6 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the average maximum temperature in the state on Saturday, 9th February.
However, it is 2.8 degrees Celsius more than normal. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded in Bathinda at 25.6 degrees Celsius.
Western disturbance has become active from Saturday, but its effect will not be seen in Punjab. According to the Meteorological Center, Jammu Kashmir and Himachal will be affected in the coming 5 days. If this happens, the cold will increase slightly in the plains. But its effect will not be seen much in the temperature.
The cold winds coming from the mountains are increasing the chill in the state. Agricultural scientists say that if these winds had blown in January, there could have been frost as well.
Western winds cause a decrease in temperature and these winds absorb moisture. There is no harm from these winds for three-four days, but if such winds blow for more than four days, then farmers will have to think about irrigation.
Previously, Dr. Pavneet Kaur Kingra, a weather expert from PAU, informed that temperature is higher than normal in Punjab. Last January, the cold was much harsher, but this year it isn’t severe.
According to meteorologists, the day temperature is constantly increasing and by the end of February it may reach 30 degrees or above. On Friday, the day temperature of Punjab was recorded between 20 degrees and 25 degrees. It will increase in the coming 5 days.
In view of the changing weather across the country in the next few days, people have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
