On Thursday, an 85-year-old woman needed B-negative blood which was not found in the entire city. After receiving this information, Jalandhar DC Vishesh Sarangal himself reached the hospital to donate his own blood. This selfless act saved the life of the woman.
According to reports, the woman was admitted to the Ghai Hospital near Shri Guru Ravidas Chowk, who needed B-negative blood due to some severe internal bleeding. This blood is found to be very rare in North India. The unit of the said blood group was being searched for a long time in the entire city but it was not found. When the matter reached DC, he put his own affairs on halt and arrived at the hospital to donate blood.
The elderly woman living in the city was recently admitted to his hospital. The 85-year-old woman was suffering internal bleeding. According to reports, only 6 grams of blood was left in the patient. The most important thing to save the patient was a blood transfusion.
About 3 to 4 blood banks were asked, but the blood could not be arranged from anywhere. Then all the information was given to DC Vishesh Sarangal on phone. After this, the DC arrived to donate blood at around 1 pm. He immediately left for his meeting after donating the blood which saved the woman's life.
In the Indian culture, charity has been described as the best deed one could perform during their life. It would not be wrong to call a donation that saves someone's life the greatest donation.
