To update the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police on scientific basis by upgrading the infrastructure, Police Commissioner Shri Swapan Sharma on Saturday flagged off 10 new Mahindra Bolero Neo SUVs.
Giving detailed information about this, the Police Commissioner said that the aim of this initiative is to help people in any kind of emergency. He said that these state-of-the-art vehicles will enable the police to respond immediately to any crime scene/incident. Swapan Sharma said that this step is another step towards modernization and renewal of police for the convenience of the people of the city.
The Police Commissioner said that this is a step towards effective and responsive policing in the city. He said that to deal with the major challenges faced by the city, it is necessary that the police force be updated as per the modern requirements in the field of investigation, science and technology. Shri Swapan Sharma said that Jalandhar Police Commissionerate is committed to upgrade and modernize the police force on scientific basis.
The Police Commissioner said that these vehicles have been allotted to 10 police stations across the city which include Police Division No. 1, Division No. 2, Division No. 3, Division No. 4, Division 6, Division 7, Police Station New Baradari, Bhargo Camp, Jalandhar Cantt and Basti Bawa Khel. He said that with this upgrade, the police are now better prepared than before to deal with any situation, adding that the traffic staff and PCR staff have been merged into the Emergency Response System (ERS). Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that apart from this, shoulder badges have been issued to the employees posted in ERS, which helps in giving them a distinct identity from a distance.
