'Kumbh Ke Mele Mein Bichad Gaye They Kya?' Well, this is a common saying in Hindi that people often use to describe long-lost people from the family. Recently, a man named Sukhpal Singh could not control his tears after his Japanese son reunited with him in Amritsar. A Japanese boy named Rin Takahata was searching for his father on Fatehgarh Churiyan Road in Punjab. With old photographs of his mother and his father's name written on a slip of paper, Rin went from house to house and shop to shop, asking everyone just one thing - where is his father? Finally, some locals saw the photo and recognized Sukhpal Singh. The son was taken to Loharka Road, the address he was looking for. As soon as he went to his father's new house, he got the biggest happiness of his life.
Sukhpal Singh, who lives in Amritsar, unexpectedly met his Japanese son again, whom he had left with his mother twenty years ago. Rin Takahata, 21, a student at Osaka University of Arts, reached Amritsar on August 18, a day before Raksha Bandhan to search for his long-lost father.
Sukhpal was quoted saying, "I went to my wife's brother's house for Raksha Bandhan, when I got a call from my brother - Your son has come from Japan, I was shocked to hear this, I asked my brother to take care of him and came to meet him immediately."
Sukhpal further said, "When we hugged each other, the emotions and feelings I felt cannot be expressed in words."
On the other hand, Rin revealed, "I got an assignment in college, in which I had to complete my family tree. I knew about my mother's family, but I did not know anything about my father except the name Sukhpal Singh. After this, I started searching for my father."
As per reports, both Sukhpal and Rin tried to find each other through various social media platforms, but to no avail. As per reports, Sukhpal said that he met his son's mother Sachie Takahata in Thailand and both of them fell in love. Sachi returned to Japan and visited him in India, following which he also went to Japan in 2002 and they got married and started living in Chiba Ken. Rin was born in 2003.
Sukhpal revealed that his marriage with Chen started to face difficulties. "I returned to India in 2004. Sachie came to India that very year and we both again went to Japan. However, despite our attempts to reconcile, misunderstandings persisted. I eventually left and started living separately and returned to India in 2007. I later married Gurvinderjit Kaur, with whom I have a daughter, Avleen Pannu."
Notably, after Rin's return to his father in India, Avleen tied him a Rakhi as well. On the other hand, Sukhpal's Japanese wife Sachie stated that the Rin is adult and mature enough to take a decision on what is right for him.
