In Punjab, in village Bhanolanga of Sultanpur Lodhi subdivision of Kapurthala, a thief who came to steal from a medical clinic late at night and the owner died under suspicious circumstances. As per the information received, after seeing the thieves in the CCTV, the owner along with his son reached the shop to catch the thieves. In the scuffle between the two, a doctor died after being shot. At the same time, the thief who was running away died after being hit by a vehicle.
Doctor Gurcharan Singh, the clinic operator, was upset due to several thefts at Charan Medical Store and Clinic located in the village of Bhanolanga. That is why he installed CCTV cameras in the clinic. Late at night, he saw in the CCTV footage that two suspicious youths were breaking the shutter of the clinic in his shop. Then Dr. Gurcharan Singh along with his son reached the spot to catch the thieves.
During this time a scuffle broke out between the thieves and the doctor in which a shot was fired from his licensed double-barreled gun. Due to this Dr. Gurcharan Singh got shot and died. While one of the thieves started running, he collided with an unknown vehicle and he also died.
Mothanwala Chowki Incharge Sarabjit Singh said that the police reached the spot and took both bodies in their custody and kept them in the mortuary for post-mortem. A serious investigation has been started in the case. The investigation is ongoing, and the identity of the deceased robber has not yet been confirmed.
