Hence, it is obvious that fans may dig deep into Khakee: The Bengal Chapter Real Story or Khakee: The Bengal Chapter True Story. Also, fans are digging deep into Khakee Barun Roy's real-life character. Below is all you need to know-
Is Khakee: The Bengal Chapter based on a true story?
The answer is no. Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is an original story written by Neeraj Pandey, Debatma Mandal, and Samrat Chakraborty. However, references like CM of West Bengal for 24 years, skeleton trade, etc have raised the eyebrows of fans as it somewhat resembles West Bengal's history. One of the characters that has impressed everyone and yet raised eyebrows is Barun Roy aka Barun Da.
The character of Barun Roy aka Barun Da is played by Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee. Barun Roy is a senior leader of the ruling party of West Bengal as shown in the series. Barun Roy's power is such that he even once slapped the CM of West Bengal. While many believe that the series has showcased the former ruling party of West Bengal before Mamata Banerjee-led TMC came into power, the makers have clearly stated that all the characters shown in the series are fictional.
Hence, Barun Roy's character is also not real and it is a fictional character. Interestingly, many are also comparing Nibedita Basak's character played by actress Chitrangada Singh is inspired by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. However, it is also fictional.

After Arjun's appointment, a perfect cat-and-mouse story starts. While Bagha gets shot by Sagor and Ranjit, IPS Arjun gets all the credit. Sagor then joins hands with senior party leader Barun who also heads an illegal skeleton trade in Kolkata. Sagor joins hands with Barun Roy to become a politician while Ranjit remains a gangster overseeing all illegal activities on the ground.
