As per reports, the man allegedly raped a woman scrap collector on the road in broad daylight after getting her drunk. Kotwali Area’s City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Om Prakash Mishra reportedly confirmed that the incident came to light after Ujjain Agar Naka video went viral on social media.
What was even more pathetic was that instead of stopping the man from committing the crime, a few individuals filmed the crime and later posted it on social media. Ujjain Rape Case Update
As per reports, police are looking for the man who filmed the sexual assault and posted it on social media. Ujjain Police has roped in the cyber cell to track down the source of the video. For the unversed, someone took a video of a man raping the woman from behind a row of metal sheets, which went viral on Thursday, sparking outrage and leading to police action.
The Police informed that the man seen in the video has been arrested. The heinous crime occurred on Wednesday when the man, who had promised to marry the woman, made the woman drink alcohol and then raped her. He further threatened her against speaking about the sexual assault and fled the spot.
“Accused Lokesh promised to marry her, made her drink liquor, and then raped her on Wednesday. Some people who were passing by shot videos of the incident instead of stopping the crime. Lokesh later fled from the spot. After the woman filed a complaint when the effect of alcohol wore off, Lokesh was arrested,” SP Om Prakash Mishra was quoted by a newswire.
