Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday addressed his first press conference in Kalyani Nagar Accident Case. On Sunday, Pune's famous builder son was thrashed by locals after his speeding Porsche car rammed into multiple vehicles killing two people including a 24-year-old woman. Vishal Agarwal's 17-year-old son was arrested by Pune Police and was presented to the court. However, in a matter of 15 hours, accused was granted bail by Juvenile Justice Board on multiple terms & conditions that included 15 days of social service, and writing a 300-word essay on road accidents. Now, Devendra Fadnavis for the first time accepted that accused's bail order was indeed surprising. Below is what Devendra Fadnavis said on Vishal Agarwal son's bail order-
"The incident that happened in Pune in which two people died after a car which was driven by a minor hit them. There was a huge public outrage in Pune. When the minor was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board, the board took a very lenient view on this. Despite two people being dead the accused minor was asked to do social service for 15 days. The outrage intensified after this. According to the application moved by the Police, it was written that the boy's age was 17 years and 8 months. This is a heinous crime. After the Nirbhaya case, the changes in the Juvenile Justice case- that if the accused is above 16 years of age and the crime is heinous, the accused can be treated as an adult...This was a surprising order passed (by the Juvenile Justice Board)...Police went to the higher court & they took cognisance.." said Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Furthermore, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis also hold a meeting with Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and other senior officials at the CP office on Tuesday.
Vishal Agarwal's son bail conditions
Prashant Patil, the top celebrity lawyer hired by builder Vishal Agarwal for his son informed to the media in a video that accused was arrested by the Yerawada police station and the honorable judge was “kind enough” to grant bail to him under some conditions. He insisted that his client is duty-bound to follow the bail conditions.
As per reports, the 17-year-old, who was exiting a posh club in Pune at 2.30 AM, reportedly drunk and rashly driving his Porsche car, has been asked by the Juvenile Justice Board to work with a traffic police official for 2 weeks and attend psychiatric counseling sessions. The accused has also been asked to write a 300-word essay on road accidents and create traffic awareness boards.
