Women’s Day 2025!

This year, Women’s Day will be celebrated under the theme, “Accelerate Action.” Accelerate Action is a global initiative to recognise and promote the use of tactics, tools, and initiatives that have a positive influence on women's advancement.

In 1975, the United Nations declared March 8 to be International Women's Day. Nonetheless, the United States and several European nations celebrated it for the first time on March 19, 1911.

The 1908 labour movement, in which a large number of women garment workers marched through the streets of New York, demanding voting rights, reduced working hours, and better pay, is where the concept of International Women's Day originated. The Socialist Party of America was the movement's leader.
