Miss India Junior Harsirat Kaur honored at Police DAV Public School; says, 'Interested in modelling but..

Harsirat Kaur, a third-class student of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar won the title of Miss India Junior 2025, around 120 children from all over India participated in this competition.

On 6th January, Harsirat Kaur, a class three student of Jalandhar, Punjab won the title of Miss India Junior 2025. Around 120 children from all over India participated in this competition. She studies at Police DAV Public School.

On 9th January, Miss India Junior winner Harsirat Kaur was honored at Police DAV Public School. A press conference was also held to celebrate her achievement and learn more about her.

During the event, Gur Iqbal Singh, Harsirat's father, was asked about his feelings regarding his daughter’s victory. He shared that the results of the competition were announced on January 6th, which coincided with his birthday. He felt that it was a heartfelt birthday gift from his daughter, which made the day a double celebration for him.

Speaking about the hard work behind Harsirat's success, her father, Gur Iqbal Singh, thanked the school teachers. He said that the combined support of the school and family has helped her in achieving this milestone.

Harsirat's journey:

When asked how she discovered Harsirat’s talent for modelling, her mother, Neelu, revealed that as a two-year-old, Harsirat would watch modelling shows on TV and mimic the performances, showcasing her passion for modelling.

Following this she recognized her daughter’s potential and came across the Miss India Junior competition on Instagram. She decided to enroll Harsirat in 2023. Although Harsirat faced rejection that year, her mother encouraged her to try again in 2024. This time, Harsirat got shortlisted and won the competition as well. 

Harsirat's future plans:

Talking about Harsirat's future plans, her mother, Neelu, shared that the decision would entirely depend on Harsirat's interests as she grows older. She is currently passionate about modelling, however, the choice of pursuing a career as a model or a doctor will ultimately be hers.

When asked how she felt when Harsirat's name was announced as the winner, Neelu said that she is very proud of her daughter. She said, “Usually, children are known by their parents' names, but in our case, we are known by our daughter's name.”

Harsirat’s Principal called it a proud moment for the school as a student from Class 3, Section B, won the Miss India Junior title. She shared that Harsirat often took on the role of lead model during annual functions. She also praised Harsirat's dedication and hard work.

The principal highlighted that winning a competition among 120 participants is a huge achievement, especially at such a young age. She congratulated Harsirat’s parents and teachers for their constant encouragement and support. She said, “As a principal, I am very proud. Harsirat has set a great example, and I wish her continued success and growth in every field.”

Harsirat's winning moment:

Talking about the moment when her name was announced as the winner, Harsirat shared, “I never thought I would win, as the first and second runners-up were so confident. I thought I wouldn't make it. But when my name was announced, I felt very happy and proud.”

Discussing about her confidence, Harsirat revealed that she had closely observed the 2023 winner and learned from her performance. Talking about her future plans she said, “I’m currently interested in modelling, but I’m unsure about my future plans.”

She described Miss India Junior as a tough platform and a difficult title to win. She expressed gratitude for the support she received from her school. She said, “I’ve received a lot of encouragement from my school, and I feel very happy to have made them proud.”
