Every year, National Consumer Rights Day is celebrated on December 24, across the country to raise awareness about the responsibilities, duties and rights of the customers. The day also aims to protect and ensure that the customers do not face any injustice and accurate and exact goods and services are delivered to the customers.

National Consumer Rights Day 2021: Why day is celebrated on December 24?
In India, the day for Consumer Rights is celebrated on December 24, because on this day in 1986, the president of India approved the Consumer Protection Act 1986 and it came into effect on the same day.
The Consumer Protection Act's principal goal is to offer consumers adequate safeguards against various sorts of exploitation, such as defective goods, unsatisfactory services, and unfair trading practices.

People many times get confused between World Consumer Day (which is celebrated on March 15) and National Consumer Rights Day (which is celebrated on December 24). Both days are observed to celebrate the same motive but they are just celebrated on different dates.
