Vande Bharat Trains are turning out to be a changer for Indian Railways and also acting as a perfect example of modern & developing India. Demands for new Vande Bharat Trains have been rising from almost every state of India. In fact, many MPs and MLAs now try their constituencies a stoppage of Vande Bharat Train so that people can travel by the premium trains. The Centre has been trying hard to cater to the rise in demand for Vande Bharat. As a result, new Vande Bharat Trains are coming soon in April 2025. Below is a list of new Vande Bharat Trains that will run in April 2025-
1) Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first Vande Bharat Train to Kashmir from Jammu's Katra on April 19. Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Train will mark the completion of the 272 km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail stretch project.The Jammu-Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express will initially run from Katra, owing to the renovation works taking place at the Jammu station. The rail link project was completed last month.
Furthermore, Jammu and Kashmir’s railway connectivity is about to reach a milestone, with the inauguration of the world’s highest railway bridge, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on April 19, during this visit to Udhampur. This trip will commemorate two big events for the Indians: first, the inauguration of the world’s highest railway bridge - Chenab Bridge, and the flag of the Vande Bharat Express to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, making the first express train of the region.
2) Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Train Festival Special
While India is celebrating Chaiti Chhath and Navratri especially in places like UP, Bihar and Jharkhand, Indian Railways has made sure that people traveling from Delhi to Patna do not face any problems. Indian Railways have resumed New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Trains as a festival special. As per reports, a special Vande Bharat Express is already operational from Delhi to Patna. Additionally, special trains will be available from Delhi to various cities in Bihar, including Saharsa, Bhagalpur, and Katihar.
Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Festival Special Train
Train number 02436, the Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Patna, operates daily from March 29. The train departs from New Delhi at 8:30 AM and arrives in Patna at 8:10 PM. The return journey (Train number 02435) started its operation on March 30, departing Patna at 8:30 AM and arriving in New Delhi at 8:10 PM. Talking about Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Festival Special Train stoppages, it halts at Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, and finally Patna. As per reports, it was run till April 1 keeping festivals in mid, however, the railways may expand its duration seeing demand.
3) Lucknow to get 3 more Vande Bharat Express Trains
Although new Vande Bharat Trains from Lucknow will not start in April 2025, discussions are going on for 3 new premium trains. A plan is being prepared to run Vande Bharat Trains on three more routes from Lucknow. These Vande Bharat Trains will run from Lucknow to Jammu, Jaipur, and Bhopal. It will provide convenience to 3200 passengers daily. The Northern and Northeast Railway administration is continuously working to strengthen the infrastructure. On one hand, the Ganga bridge on the Kanpur route is being repaired after 29 years.
On the other hand, work is going on on the Gorakhpur route. Track speed is being increased i.e. where trains used to run at a speed of 80 to 100 km per hour, the speed has been increased to 130 km per hour. Now preparations are on to run Vande Bharat trains from Lucknow's Charbagh Railway Station to Jammu and from Gomtinagar Station to Bhopal and Jaipur.
