The flight was scheduled to take off from Mumbai to Dubai at 8:25 am. Passengers boarded on time, but the flight could not take off due to a technical fault in the plane.

Following this, passengers were locked in the cabin, and the air conditioning also remained off. The rising temperature and lack of air made the situation worse. After the incident, a wave of anger spread against Air India on social media. Later on, the flight finally took off at 5:10 pm and landed in Dubai at 6:29 pm (GST).

A passenger posted a video of the incident on social media and wrote, "We were kept locked in a flight that took off at 8:25 am for five hours without air conditioning. Children and elderly passengers were the most troubled, but no one helped us."
