Which states will observe a holiday on February 12?
A holiday has been declared on 12th February in Madhya Pradesh and Punjab on the occasion of Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti. In Punjab, processions will be taken out in many districts on the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti.
In view of the religious events, the administration has made strict security arrangements. Meat and liquor shops will also remain closed in Punjab. On the occasion of Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti, instructions have been given to keep meat and liquor shops closed in Punjab while respecting religious sentiments.
Jalandhar DC Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the administration will remain alert to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incident.
According to the official holiday calendar of the Madhya Pradesh government, employees will also get the facility of some optional leaves this month.
Under the rules of the state government, employees can take a maximum of three days leave out of 68 optional holidays as per their convenience. More leaves than this will not be approved.
On Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti and Maha Shivaratri, people can participate in religious events by taking advantage of the holiday in government and educational institutions.
