Impact and preparations

The failing temperatures are likely to bring frost and intensify the chill, especially during the mornings and nights. Farmers have been advised to take precautionary measures to protect crops from damage, particularly wheat, and mustard. Urban residents, meanwhile, are urged to gear up with warm clothing and ensure adequate heating arrangements at home.

Health experts recommend precautions such as avoiding prolonged exposure to the cold and maintaining proper hydration to combat the effects of the winter chill.

Winter festivities amid the chill

The Lohri festive, a symbol of warmth and togetherness, will offer some respite as families gather around bonfires to celebrate the end of the winter solstice. However, residents are reminded to exercise caution and ensure safety while lighting fires, given the dry cold conditions.

Stay tuned for updates as the cold wave progresses, and make the most of the winter while staying safe and warm!
