Today, March 6, is the fourth day of the budget session in the Punjab Assembly. Discussions regarding the budget are being held during the session today. The atmosphere of the session heated up after the issue of giving jobs to people from outside states was raised by Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. He said that there is no rule that people with qualifications should not be given jobs. He said that opposition needs to clarify what should be done regarding this. He said that the Haryana government had made such an attempt, but this case could not stand in the High Court. He questioned Pratap Singh Bajwa and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on this topic which led to a major uproar during the session.
Finance Minister Harpal Cheema had presented a budget of more than Rs 2 lakh crore yesterday on Tuesday. Congress MLA Sukhvinder Kotli held demonstrations at the beginning of the session day. He said that the AAP government should make a Dalit Deputy CM soon. He demanded an apology from CM Bhagwant Mann on his statement of “seizures and smelling shoes”.
AAP MLA Principal Budh Ram clarified the situation on the loan of Punjab government. Giving the example of American economist Kane, he said that he considered debt right for development. He said that the government is taking loans solely for the development of the state. Whereas the previous government failed to make any significant development. He said that the loans were put to good use by building Aam Aadmi Clinics.
He said that the government has fulfilled its four guarantees in two years. The remaining guarantees will be completed soon. At the same time, he said that earlier depot holders used to humiliate those who went to collect ration. But the government has now started door-to-door ration scheme. In such a situation, people are not facing any problem.
