Justice was finally served in the rape and murder case of a 12-year-old girl in Jalandhar when the court sentenced the man to death. A Punjab court on Friday sentenced the accused for raping a 12-year-old girl and then killing her with a hammer about 4 years ago. The man was identified as 30-year-old drug addict Gurpreet Gopi. Gurpreet Gopi first raped the girl, then hid the girl's body in sacks filled with sand.
Additional District and Session Judge Archana Kamboj described the above case as cruel. Gopi's uncle's son Vikas has already been declared a fugitive. After the girl's body was found (then), the locals thrashed Gurpreet Gopi.
The police rescued the accused from the clutches of the public and took him to the police station. The accused was interrogated till midnight. The police had seized the blood-stained hammer. The girl's body was found in the house of neighbor Gurpreet. At the same time, when the police got the post-mortem done, it was found that the girl had been raped.
According to the information, the girl went missing from a village in Goraya, Jalandhar at 4:15 pm. After which the father started searching for the girl. At 2:45 pm, she was seen playing outside the house. After this the police team started investigating the matter. First of all, an announcement was made and the photo of the missing girl was shared on social media.
When the police checked the CCTV cameras installed in the village, it became clear that the girl had not gone out of the village. After this, the police launched a search operation. The police started searching the houses. Gurpreet also started helping the police in searching people's houses by doing a drama of searching for the girl. When the police went to Gurpreet's house at around 7 pm, a hammer stained with blood was found inside. After which the accused was arrested.
