DAV University has been recognized for its outstanding contributions to industry-academia collaboration by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC). The prestigious Education Excellence Award was presented to Dr. Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV University, at a ceremony in New Delhi.
The award was bestowed upon DAV University for its exceptional efforts in fostering partnerships between academia and industry. Dr. Abhay Sinha, Director General of SEPC, Shrikant Sinha, CEO of Telangana Academy of Skill & Knowledge, and Mr. Deepak Chhabra, Deputy Director of SEPC presented the award.
Established by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, SEPC plays a crucial role in promoting India's services sector globally. The council facilitates international business opportunities and actively supports the growth of India's education sector.
Dr. Manoj Kumar emphasized that DAV University's dedication to innovation, research, and experiential learning were some of the key factors behind this recognition. The university's Industry Co-op programmes, such as the BTech in Mechatronics with specialization in Electric Vehicle Engineering (EVE), exemplify its commitment to industry partnerships. The collaboration with L&T EduTech and DIYguru has led to the establishment of a Center of Excellence (CoE) in E-Mobility, fostering skill development in the EV industry.
He said that DAV University also forged strategic alliances with other industry leaders like SAP, Maruti Suzuki, Honeywell and Intel, offering students a blend of practical experience and academic rigour. The university has expanded its global reach through collaborations with international institutions like the University of Memphis School of Public Health and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. DAV University also launched the Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Fellowship to support foreign students pursuing PhD programmes, he added.
