Punjab Tourism, Punjab Home Stays: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has promised to make the state to make an international tourist center. While Bhagwant Mann's administration is working on the ground under various schemes that are improving the livelihood of the people, the Punjab CM is also making sure that the people living in the village contribute to the state's economy. This can only be achieved by uplifting the women of villages in Punjab. Therefore, in order to boost employment, promote Punjabi culture and increase employment, Bhagwant Mann has come up with a master stroke of 'Farm Stays'.

Under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to develop every sector of tourism, due to which the State Government is opening new avenues for comprehensive and sustainable development of the tourism sector, employment generation, and economic prosperity of the State. Since Punjab and its people have a special identity for their hospitality and the real spirit of Punjabi culture is reflected in the villages of Punjab, there are unlimited possibilities for home and farm stays in the rural areas of the State.The
Punjab Government is making historic efforts to explore these possibilities. Farm and homestays are becoming the preferred options for travellers. Tourists want to spend holidays in peaceful places and the state government has understood this. Farm tourism is also a great source of employment for women. Similarly, agricultural tourism is also being given attention, which can increase the income of farmers manifold. Punjab Tourism Department conducts online registration under three schemes, Farm, Bed and Breakfast Homestay, Tented Accommodation, and Camping Site. People can apply online from their homes. So far, more than 50 farmhouses and more than 80 bed and backyard units have been registered.
Farm tourism is a better opportunity for employment for women
In the first-ever tourism summit and travel summit organised in Punjab, many experts have urged to promote eco-tourism in front of the government of Bhagwant Mann. They said that Punjab lives in villages. In such a situation, if farm tourism gets promoted, it can also become a better opportunity for employment for women. Punjab has a rich agricultural heritage which needs to be reached.
