A new western disturbance will become active on 29th January. Due to this, there are chances of rain for the second time in January in Punjab. However, last time, the rain was less than expected due to the weak western disturbance.
The Meteorological Department Shimla has also confirmed about the western disturbance and issued an alert of snowfall and rain from 30th January in Punjab. Meanwhile, a cold wave alert has been issued in Punjab for the next two days as well.
Due to the new western disturbance in the Himalayan regions, there will be fog in the morning and evening in the open areas of some districts from 29th January. There are chances of rain in the Majha and Doaba areas on 30th and 31st January,
Additionally, Jalandhar has remained the coldest area for the second consecutive day and Adampur has remained the coldest district with 2.5 degrees.
The night temperature has dropped by one degree in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the night temperature will reach zero degrees in the next few days.
Apart from this, in Himachal, the weather remained clear on Saturday and a rise in temperature was also recorded due to bright sunshine. The maximum temperature has gone up by 7 degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature of Shimla has increased by 1 degree on Saturday, due to which the temperature here has gone up to 6.3 degrees above normal. The temperature of Sundernagar has also increased by 0.8 degrees, the temperature is 7 degrees above normal. The temperature of Kalpa has reached 4 degrees and that of Dharamsala has reached 3 degrees above normal.
