Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member Parliament (MP) Raghav Chadha reached Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’ residence on Saturday. Raghav Chadha had been undergoing eye surgery in UK and had been away from the political landscape for quite a long time.
Times are tumultuous for AAP, keeping in mind that on one hand, the party supremo Arvind Kejriwal is currently out of jail on interim bail. On the other hand, AAP is also embroiled in another big controversy due to Swati Maliwal’s assault case. Delhi CM’s Personal Assistant (PA), Bibhav Kumar, has been accused of allegedly assaulting AAP MP Swati Maliwa. Not only this, the Delhi police had been investigating the Delhi CM’s residence for quite a long time with regard to the Swati Maliwal assault case.
More about Swati Maliwal assault case:
As per reports, it is being alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s PA Bhibhav Kumar had brutally assaulted the AAP MP at the CM’s residence. On the other hand, Bhibhav Kumar has filed a complaint saying that Maliwal had forcibly entered the CM’s residence and then misbehaved with the security guard. The police has been conducted a thorough search of the residence and has taken the CCTV footage from the scene into custody.
While Maliwal’s case has landed AAP in deep water, Raghav Chadha’s return is being viewed in a favourable light by the party. Raghav also returns at a crucial time in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Polling in Delhi will occur on May 25. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj had said that Raghav Chadha was undergoing a major eye surgery in the UK and will join the party's Lok Sabha poll 2024 campaigning once he feels better. He also added that the MP had developed a serious eye ailment which could have led to blindness.
