Famous Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa's programme at the Red Cross fair in Himachal Pradesh has been cancelled as Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal were constantly opposing it.
According to them, Bawa has hurt the sentiments of Hindus with his song and this has become the reason of opposing his programme. He has done indecent comments on our Lord Shiva, Janeu and Gau Mata hurting the sentiment of Hindus.
This Red Cross fair was scheduled to be held in Nalagarh in Solan district from 15th to 18th December. However, after this controversy, singer Kulwinder Billa has been called to do the programme.
Confirming this, SDM Rajkumar of Nalagarh said that the artists selected by the committee in the Red Cross fair have been invited to the program. He said that Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa will not perform in the programme instead of him, now Kulwinder Billa will give his performance in the programme.
According to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Ranjit Bawa had released a Punjabi song 'Mera Ki Kas'. This song had indecent remarks against Hindu deities. When they got informed about Bawa getting invited to the Red Cross fair, they got angry. They sent a demand letter to the Deputy Commissioner through the SDM stating that another singer should be called instead of Bawa or else there will be a protest against the programme.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad Minister Rajesh Kumar said that inviting Bawa to the Nalagarh fair has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. The Council will not tolerate this. These organisations have protested, due to which the administration had to change the decision. They said that there are many artists in Himachal, we should not invite someone who does not care about other people’s sentiments.
Not only Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal opposed Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa but a campaign was also being run on social media. On social media, users were sharing post of Boycott Bawa.
VHP Minister Rajesh Kumar said that this not the first time, Ranjit Bawa is getting opposed. Earlier in 2022, Bawa was invited to the Minjar fair in Chamba, but then the Parishad and Bajrang Dal had opposed Bawa. After this protest, the administration had to cancel Bawa's program.
