A student of RIMT University in Mandi Gobindgarh of Fatehgarh Sahib has committed suicide in Punjab. The body of the student was found hanging from the fan of his PG room. The body was taken out after breaking the door of the PG room. The deceased was identified as Salik Naseer Bhatt, a 21-year-old student. He was the resident of Jammu and Kashmir. Police has taken his body into their custody and has started investigating the case.
Salik Naseer was a 5th semester student of BSc Nursing in RIMT University. He lived in a PG in Mandi Gobindgarh. Naseer's mobile was reportedly switched off for two days. After which his family members started calling the Kashmiri students studying with him and asked them to go to Naseer's room and check.
When the students came to the PG, the door of the room was closed. When the people around were called and the door was broken, Naseer was found hanging from the fan. People around immediately informed the police about the matter. Area councillor Puneet Goyal said that he also doesn’t know the reason of the student’s suicide so far. The police are investigating the matter.
ASI Jaspal Singh, who came to the spot from Mandi Gobindgarh police station and took the student's two mobile phones in his possession, said that no suicide note was found in the room of the student. The two mobile phones founded in his room were handed over to the senior officials and they will be sent for the forensic investigation. Currently, the relatives of the deceased have been called from Jammu and Kashmir and their statements have been recorded. After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family.
