Bollywood actress & Mandi MP-elect Kangana Ranaut on Thursday fired her first statement after she was slapped at Chandigarh Airport by a woman constable-level CISF officer Kulwinder Kaur. Kangana Ranaut took to her official X handle and shared her video with the caption, "Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab…." In her video, Kangana Ranaut said, "I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The incident that happened today at Chandigarh airport was during the security check. As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me on my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protest. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab..."
Mandi MP-Elect Kangana Ranaut was going to Delhi to meet the BJP's top leadership after winning the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. However, when Kangana Ranaut went to board the flight to Delhi from Chandigarh Airport, she was allegedly slapped by a constable rank CISF officer named Kulwinder Kaur.
In the meantime, a newswire stated that an inquiry committee comprising senior CISF officers has been set up to conduct a further investigation into the matter.
On June 4, Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi. After her victory, the actress also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.
