Two weeks in January 2025 is already over and now streaming platforms are all set to bring top movies and series of this month. Among the mega releases, Netflix dropped the Black Warrant series as its first and major web series of 2025. Now, a plethora of web series and movies are lined up that will be released on OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Hotstar, etc from January 13 onwards. 1) Paatal Lok Season 2
Amazon Prime Video’s most popular crime thriller, Paatal Lok, is back with the trailer of its upcoming season. Paatal Lok Season 2 will be released on Prime Video on January 17, 2025. The trailer of this highly anticipated series provides a glimpse of the series to the audience.
The trailer shows new challenges faced by inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary as he starts his new journey as an underdog in Nagaland. Paatal Lok is directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware and is produced by Clean Slate Filmz in association with Eunoia Films LLP. The trailer of Paatal Lok season 2 promises the audience a more compelling storyline.
2) The Roshans
The Roshans is a docuseries directed by Shashi Ranjan. It is produced by Rakesh Roshan and Shashi Ranjan. This docuseries stars Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, and Hrithik Roshan. This docuseries revolves around the Roshan family. It will feature candid interviews with industry peers, friends, and colleagues, who will offer their perspectives on the Roshan legacy. The Roshans is all set to start streaming on 17th January on Netflix.
3) Back in Action
Starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, Back in Action is an action thriller that will be released on Netflix on January 17, 2025. Back in Action's official synopsis reads, "Years after giving up life as CIA spies to start a family, Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) find themselves dragged back into the world of espionage when their cover is blown."
4) Hellboy: The Crooked Man
Much-loved & cult classic in the alien genre, Hellboy is all set to be released with its latest installment 'The Crooked Man'. From renowned director, writer & producer Brian Taylor (Crank, Happy!) comes Hellboy: The Crooked Man , a film about survival in the face of death. In the 1950s, Rookie BPRD agent Bobbie Jo Song is tasked with delivering a spider to the BPRD, but must seek Hellboy's help when things go awry. Together, they travel to Appalachia to take on the Crooked Man, who has been sent back to Earth to collect souls for the devil.
Hellboy: The Crooked Man is written by original Hellboy creators Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden, and distributed in the US by Ketchup Entertainment. Hellboy: The Crooked Man will start streaming from January 17 on Lionsgate Play.
5) Unstoppable
If you love to watch movies based on real story then Unstoppable can be a perfect watch this week. The upcoming film is the inspiring, true story of American wrestler Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome), who was born with one leg. It also features Jennifer Lopez.
The official synopsis of the movie reads, "Unstoppable is the inspiring true story of Anthony Robles (Jharrel Jerome) who was born with one leg but whose indomitable spirit and unbreakable resolve empowered him to defy the odds and pursue his dreams. 6) Speak No Evil
Speak No Evil is another thriller that is all set to send the chills among the fans. Speak No Evil will be released on Jio Cinema on January 13, 2025. It was released in theaters in September 13, 2024. Speak No Evil's official synopsis reads, "When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.'
Directed by James Watkins, Speak No Evil stars Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Halt and Catch Fire) and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy (Argo, A Quiet Place Part II) as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler; The Good Nurse, Riverdale), accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi; Game of Thrones, The Fall) and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Daniel Hough).
7) With Love, Meghan
Notably, With Love, Meghan was supposed to be released on Netflix on January 15, 2025. However, due to the tragic Los Angeles fires, With Love, Meghan's release date has now been postponed. With Love, Meghan will now stream on March 4. The eight-episode series features Suits-fame actress Meghan Markle at her candid best as she sources food from her kitchen garden and prepares delicacies for her friends and family. Her guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, and several others.
