Cracking down on nuisance being created by people through at public places by violating norms, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma rounded up 35 persons during extensive action at PPR Market and Model Town market.
Leading from the front, the Commissioner of Police himself led the entire operation in the PPR Mall and Model Town market on Saturday late evening. The Commissioner of Police and other officers started the action at around 7:30 in the evening, which was concluded at around 10:30 pm. Mr Swapan Sharma and other top officers of the Commissionerate Police conducted this operation for around three hours.
The Commissioner of Police himself ensured that all the shops flouting the norms whether of traffic, parking or any other is checked thoroughly. He said that the violation of norm is totally unwarranted and undesirable adding that anyone flouting law will not be spared. Mr Swapan Sharma said no one should take law for granted else exemplary action will be taken against them.
Meanwhile, during this comprehensive action the Police rounded up 35 persons, 14 traffic challans were issued, three vehicles were impounded and one preventive action was taken u/s 126/169 BNS. Mr Swapan Sharma said that such action will be repeated in the coming days too adding that flouting of norms will be dealt with strictly. He said that no one, howsoever affluent he may be, will be allowed to violate the law as Commissionerate Police is committed to take severest of severe action against such culprits.
