Shah Rukh Khan has once again proven his global charm, as Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin gave a heartfelt shout-out to the Bollywood superstar during their Mumbai concert on January 19, The moment which unfolded at the DY Patil Stadium, left fans roaring with excitement as Martin declared, “Shah Rukh Khan forever!”
SRK was deeply touched by the gesture and his reaction the next day on social media. Quoting the iconic Coldplay song Yellow, he wrote
“Look at the stars ... look how they shine for you…and everything you do! My brother Chris Martin, you make me feel special.. Like your songs! Love you and a big hug to your team. You are one in a billion, my friend. India loves you.”
The accompanying video of the tribute quickly went viral, racking up nearly 3 million views in just one hour on Instagram. The clip captured a stadium full of fans cheering wildly and waving their mobile lights as Martin paid homage to King Khan.
Coldplay, currently in India for their Music of the Spheres World Tour, has two shows lined up at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26. This isn't the first time the British band, which includes Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion, and manager Phil Harvey, has shared a special connection with India. Back in 2016, they performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai, after which SRK hosted an exclusive after-party for Chris Martin at his residence.
