On Friday, 25th October, SHO Arshpreet Kaur shared a post on her Facebook handle where she put severe allegations on the DSP and revealed about the sexual harassment she faced at her work place.
Recently, SHO Inspector Arshpreet Kaur Grewal was accused of assisting opium smugglers in Moga, Punjab. Arshpreet, along with two other police personnel, faced allegations of accepting bribes from drug traffickers.
During the pandemic, Kaur was recognized as a COVID-19 warrior by the former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for her dedication during the deadly pandemic. But after being accused in Drug Trafficking Scandal, her credibility is being brought into question.
She wrote, “Hello Everyone, the reality is poles apart. The False and frivolous case has been registered against me. I am surprised how an attempted sexual harassment at work place turned into False FIR just to save the DSP.”
She claimed that the allegations put on her are fake and wrote, “It was planned and plotted. I wish I would have shared it with Worthy DGP sir, SSP sir and other senior officials in time. I was quiet, taking care of the reputation of my family and being the part of Police family from past 10 Years, I tried to tell that to worthy SSP sir but he was already been manipulated by SP D Sir Bal Krishan Singla and DSP sir Ramandeep Singh. I never had an Idea that putting a DDR entry against senior officers in their wrong doing and saying No to DSP Ramandeep Singh will put me in this situation. There are two matters I want to share with Public and senior officers I hope SSP sir Moga and Punjab Government will take it seriously and I appeal Honourable High Court, Women Commission of Punjab and Women Commission of India to Please take suo motto cognizance in this matter and consider it my statement.”
“Sir/ Madam, In August 2024 I was posted as SHO Mehna Moga and was the then IO of FIR number 71 of 2023. A Congress Person was murdered at village Dala and it was famous as Bali Murder case having 4 accused by name and later 8 to 9 accused were nominated by previous IOs u/s 302 IPC. It was high profile case. One day the then SSP sir Moga, SP-D Bal Krishan Singla and other officials called me at SSP Sir's office and asked me to give discharge application of 4 accused who were nominated by name in FIR by the wife of the deceased and give challan 173(8). I denied and tried to resist that and conveyed to SSP sir and SP D Bal Krishan Singla Sir that charges have already been framed in the Hon'ble court of ASJ Sanjeev Kundi sir but SP D Bal Krishan Singla pressurized me and told me that we have ordered you to do this we don't want to listen anything after which on returning back to the Police Station Mehna I put thorough DDR entry stating that SSP sir , SP D Bal Krishan Singla have given verbal orders to give discharge application of the 4 accused and also to give supplementry challan u/s 173(8) that they are innocent and shall be discharged. After few days senior officers came to know that I have put such DDR entry and they started harrassing me saying " Bakhsha ge nhi tenu" and SP D Bal Krishan Singla called me to his office n number of times in order to record statements in other enquiries and said evil to me. " Tu yaad rkhe gi v DDR entry kive payi di hai." I will annex the DDR ENTRY with this Post. The whole Moga Police know that SP D was mentally harrassing me by one means or other. Sometimes he scolded me in front of my sub ordinates just to make me feel small and sometimes in front of Public. I was been Mentally harrassed by him but I never had an idea that to take his personal revenge he will go this far and manipulate SSP sir against me and register this False FIR against me,” she further added.
SHO shared about the another matter and said, “The other matter I wanted to share was recent that of Last Sunday where in MLA Dharamkot sir invited all the officials for Sukhmani Sahib's Path at Gurdwara Hazur Sahib Dharamkot and I thought it's Sunday and I chose to go to Gurdwara Sahib in civil clothes. After the Path me and SHO Fatehgarh Panjtoor Madam we were hungry and we in her personal vehicle went in search of some good cafe to sit and have a meal and we ended up choosing a cafe near chowk Dharamkot where co incidently DSP Dharamkot Ramandeep Singh and SHO Dharamkot were already sitting and when we were about to go to other cafe they both saw us and asked to join and have food together. Where we had food and after when we both asked DSP sir that sir we will take a leave now, DSP Ramandeep Singh told Sunita mam to go and asked me to come and meet me at Office. "Madam tusi Mil k jayo menu". Mai keha sir now? He said, you go n wait at my office I will be there and I thought he might want to discuss something really serious and I started for his office and on my way to his office I asked chowky Incharge to send Rajpal to get the signatures done on reply of writ petition pending and DSP sir was not aware that Rajpal will come there and moment I reached there the office was closed and locked.
“No reader staff was present as It was Sunday. One elderly was present who opened the door and asked me to wait in office and in some time DSP Ramandeep sir came and that peon person left the premises of DSP office and DSP SIR started speaking non sense that " mam you are also sports person. I am Hockey Olympian and so much is common between us and since I joined Moga your looks and the way work attracted me tusi smjh rahe o na what I want to say. You are intelligent and mai thodi company both like krda and came across his table and tried to touch me n when I said NO means No, This is not right and I will complaint against you and how you are trying to sexually harrass me at the work place and I pushed him back and he went back and sat on his chair and started appologizing that sorry mam I thought you also have same feelings for me. on that very moment I told DSP Ramandeep that I will complaint to worthy SSP sir and if needful to DGP Sir and I was about to leave meanwhile Rajpal came inside for signatures as he was waiting for long outside and from glass door he saw the shameful act of DSP, I don't know how much he saw but for sure he saw that DSP harassed me and I was upset. I didn't want to make a scene over it. I left and since that day I never went to his office. That day I was quiet for so many reasons, I am a married working women I have two families and their reputations to take care and thought that DSP might have realised his mistake as he already apologized but After coming back I went back home and everything DSP Ramandeep Singh did to me in his office, How he tried to sexually exploit me started bothering me and I tried to speak to worthy SSP sir on that and texted sir that I want to meet you Sir. I was speechless how to handle it and next morning again asked SSP Sir if I can meet you sir, I want to talk to you. I even asked if I can meet you at his residence. I even spoke to reader of SSP sir that I want to meet SSP sir please take time for me and SSP sir said we will meet in the evening after crime meeting at SSP office and I went to meet SSP sir I tried to tell him how DSP Ramandeep Singh tried to sexually harass me at work place but DSP Ramandeep Singh had already filled up SSP sir by false accusations against me. Before I could say anything, SSP sir started saying that complaints are coming against you by your Dysp etc etc and I will verify and asked me to leave. But again I never knew that SP-D and DSP Dharamkot will go to this extent to save the DSP from Sexual Harrassment offences and to teach me lesson for putting the by name DDR entry against SP-D Bal Krishan Singla. I request SSP sir Moga to please preserve all the circumstantial evidences verifying my above statements.”
Arshpreet also talked about her hard work and wrote, “I am a very hard working Police officer, I have worked really hard in past 10.years. The whole Ludhiana knows that how hard I worked during covid days In Ludhiana, compared to other officers I worked for 20 to 22 hours a day, there were days when I worked for 36 hours at a stretch. Similarly In Moga my Prevention and detection work was good that I got appreciation letter from the then SSP sir Moga, My CC1 certificate and Cash reward was sent after I successfully rescued a child who was kidnapped from govt school Mehna during my Posting as SHO Mehna. And recently during election duty SSP sir recommended DGP Disc for performing my duties well when I rescued AAP MLA Dharamkot from a mob throwing stones on him. If you will see my older record I have always given my best to help the society and worked really hard through out my career of past 10 Years.”
“I can assure that I have worked way more harder than many male counterparts But our society is still male dominating and women in authority always had to face various challenges for survival,” she further added.
Following this, SHO talked about the allegations that has been put on her regarding the drug trafficking case. She wrote, “Let's Now come to the reality of FIR of 2 kg Opium. Sir/ Mam, 2 kg Opium was recovered by Police during area patrolling. It was a chance recovery and as per procedure the video graphy during recovery in NDPS case was done at e Sakshya app and if senior officials are considering the video on e-Sakshya app in FIR No. 131 to be inaccurate then all the e-Sakshya app videos are in question wether in Punjab or all over India. I was not even the Investigating officer of the case. Being SHO, I checked the seized parcel of 2kg Opium that was dully sealed by ASI Baljit Kaur and I checked the facts of the case and sealed the parcel with my seal impression 'AK'. And next day inventory proceedings were done by me in the honourable court as per law. I have not conducted any investigation in this matter. I never visited the place of occurrence, I never visited the place of accused. I never met the accused before. No person was spared by me as per the allegations levelled against me. How can I favour 2-3 people in this case when I never did any investigation of that case. I was not the IO. On that day I was busy at BDPO office performing my duties along with DSP Ramandeep Singh. And to my surprise How our senior officers have not given FIR on the IO and the Police Party who did the chance recovery. Although No wrong was done by me or any Police official of my Police station in that FIR of 2 kg Opium.
Now I just came to know that SP D Bal Krishan Singla and DSP Dharamkot Ramandeep Singh are harrassing and pressurising IO Madam Baljit Kaur and the entire Police Party of my Police station and threatening them that If they won't give statement against me SP D and DSP Ramandeep Singh will nominate them all and will get them dismissed from the department. And they are being physically tortured aswell. Also the accused of that case Amarjeet Singh was brought on production warrant in some other case of Arms Act by Incharge CIA and was tortured and his statement has been recorded forcefully that he gave me 5 lacs and he had in his posession more recovery.
I never knew putting a DDR Entry against SP D Bal Krishan Singla and opposing the sexual harrassment at work place will change my whole life in minute.”
She then requested the higher authorities to help her and wrote, “My humble submission to SSP Moga, CM Punjab, Central Government, Honourable Supreme Court, Honourable High Court, Women Commission Of India, Punjab Government, CM Punjab, DGP Sir Punjab, Punjab State women Commission to please help me. Everything I have mentioned in this post is as true as my existence.”
Following this, SP Headquarters Gursharanjit Singh Sandhu came in front of the media and said that Madam had not given any complaint regarding the sexual harassment before today. Along with this, he also described the character of his DSP as clean.
