Balkaur Singh, father of Punjab singer Sidhu Moosewala, has handed over all the documents related to the newborn child to the state government. According to Balkaur Singh, he had received the government notice only a few days ago. He said that if the government asks for more information, he will provide it also.
Sidhu Moosewala's address Balkaur Singh said that IVF treatment was used abroad. The child was born only in Punjab. After becoming pregnant through IVF, necessary treatments were also taken from the government hospital.
Moosewala's mother gave birth to a child on March 17 through IVF technique. The Union Health Ministry wrote a letter to the Punjab Government on this and asked for a report.
In the letter sent by the Union Health Ministry to the Health Secretary of Punjab, the Assisted Reproductive Technology Act was cited. In this matter, the Punjab government has issued a notice to Health Secretary Ajoy Sharma. An answer has been sought from him as to how he sought information from Balkaur Singh and his family without bringing it to the notice of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Chief Secretary Anurag Verma. They will have to give this answer within 2 weeks.
After the notice, Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh released a video statement accusing accused the government of harassing him. He said that the administration is repeatedly troubling him about presenting the legal documents of the child.
Balkaur Singh made it clear that he is a former soldier and respects the law. If they have to lend a helping hand, then definitely lend a hand. First file FIR and then investigation. They will present complete evidence. Not only this, they will also be clearly saved from the charges.
What is the ART act 2021?
According to Section 21 (G) (i) Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Act 2021 in India, to have a child, the age of women should be between 21 to 50 years and the age of men should be between 21 to 55 years. Whereas in foreign countries, women above 50 years of age can also use IVF technology.
According to experts, according to the law passed in 2022, if a woman becomes pregnant abroad, her delivery in India is possible. This is the reason why Moosewala's family adopted this technique abroad. In such a situation, Indian law will not apply to them.
