Another stand-up comedian has landed into the soup for cracking vulgar parents' jokes during a recent show. A comedian named Swati Sachdeva has been facing extreme criticism after a clip of hers went viral on YouTube.
In a viral clip, Swati jokes about her mother finding her vibrator, and now people are asking whether there should be any limits, especially when parents are involved in the jokes.
Accordingly, the viral clip is from the latest stand-up episode uploaded on Swati’s YouTube channel eight days ago. She tried to joke about her “cool mother” and mentioned how her mother found the device.
Sachdeva could be quoted saying, “I was sure she (her mother) was going to ask me to lend the vibrator. She started calling it (the vibrator) a gadget, a toy. I was like, 'I swear, Mom, it belongs to Papa.' She said, 'Don't speak nonsense; I know his choice.'" The episode has been named ‘Family First.’
Along with the mentioned statement, she also jokes about various other subjects.
While uploading the video on YouTube, she wrote a disclaimer that reads, “The video contains occasional use of strong language and adult humor for comedic purposes; viewer discretion is advised.”
However, despite this, she has been largely criticized for using such language during a show. While questioning the intent of the joke, one of the users wrote, “This is what comedy has become? Just vulgarity and cheap jokes?”
While another recalled the recent incident that happened with Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahabadia and commented, “If Ranveer and Samay face legal action for their jokes, will Swati be next?” the third one noted, “Probably the most cringeworthy standup 'comedy' you will ever see.”
Allahbadia and Raina’s Controversy -
Recently, YouTubers Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia landed into controversy and faced legal complaints due to obscene language used in one of the latest episodes of “India’s Got Latent.” Both are questioned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police after a viral episode of the show showed Allahbadia passing obscene remarks about parents.
Following this, Raina and Allahbadia both issued an apology through a video on social media.
Notably, this incident has reignited the conversations and debates about the boundaries humor must have.
