In a major development, Punjab's busiest toll plaza will now charge more from vehicles passing through it. Yes! you heard it right. The National Highway Authority of India (NHA) has announced a price hike for commuters passing through Ladowal Toll Plaza which is on the Ludhiana-Jalandhar Highway. As per Dipendra Singh, the manager of Ladowal Toll Plaza, the new toll rates will come into effect from April 1, 2025, as per the guidelines issued by the National Highway Authority.
Dipendra Singh confirmed that there will be a 5% increase in toll charges, which will be implemented starting midnight on March 31, 2025. The process of updating the rate lists at the toll plaza has already begun. Below is Ladowal Toll Plaza's new rate from April 1, 2025-
- Cars: Rs 230 for a one-way trip (previously Rs 220), Rs 345 for a round trip (previously Rs 330).
- Light Vehicles: Rs 370 for one-way (previously Rs 355), Rs 555 for round trip (previously Rs 535).
- Buses & Trucks: Rs 775 for one-way (previously Rs 745), Rs 1160 for round trip (previously Rs 1120).
- Commercial Vehicles: Rs 845 for one-way (previously Rs 815), Rs 1265 for round trip (previously Rs 1225).
- HCS 6 Axle Vehicles: Rs 1215 for one-way (previously Rs 1170), Rs 1820 for round trip (previously Rs 1755).
- Oversized Vehicles: Rs 1475 for one-way (previously Rs 1425), Rs 2215 for round trip (previously Rs 2140).
Additionally, monthly pass rates for frequent commuters will also see a rise.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Ladowal Toll Plaza is already known for being one of the most expensive toll points in Punjab.
