On Thursday, 17th October, Toll Plazas will be made free by the Bharatiya Kisan Union in Punjab. This decision of making the toll plaza free is a part of their protest against the improper purchase of paddy.
Farmer leader Joginder Singh Ugrahan and General Secretary Sukhdev Singh has said that the 5-member state leadership team of the organization has taken this huge decision. Farmer leaders accused the Central and Punjab governments of ignoring these legitimate demands of the farmers.
They have appealed the farmers and labourers of all the villages to gather in the protest against the central and state government.
According to the decision, both types of marches will take place continuously. This protest is against both the Central and Punjab government. He said that the protest will continue till the improper paddy purchase is stopped by the government.
On Friday, 18th October, the organization has announced to sit outside the houses of BJP leaders Arvind Khanna, Parneet Kaur and all the AAP ministers and MLAs. Along with this, the employees of Punjab Roadways and PRTC have also announced to block the buses on 21st October.
Previously, the Punjab farmers had blocked roads and squatted on rail tracks at many places in the state as part of their protest against the alleged tardy procurement of paddy in the ongoing kharif marketing season.
