Jalandhar Valmiki Shobha Yatra, Jalandhar Traffic Plan Valmiki Jayanti 2024: Jalandhar is all set to witness the grand Shobha Yatra on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti. A grand procession will be taken out in Jalandhar today on the birth anniversary of Shri Valmiki Maharaj. The procession will be attended by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Minister Mohinder Bhagat, and senior leaders including many MLAs. The police have taken strict security measures for this. Notably, schools and government offices have been directed to observe Wednesday as half-day and working or teaching to be done till 2 pm. In the meanwhile, Jalandhar Police have updated the traffic plan of the city keeping the Shobha Yatra in mind.
The traffic police have issued a notification regarding the Prakash Utsav of Maharishi Bhagwan Valmiki Ji. In this traffic route, the police have diverted the routes from 22 points of the city.Apart from this, the traffic police have also issued a helpline number 0181-2227296.
According to the traffic police, the procession will be completed from Ali Mohalla to Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk, Luv Kush Chowk (Milap Chowk), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Panjpeer Chowk, Khingra Gate, Addahoshiarpur Chowk, Addatanda, Mai Heera Gate, Bhagwan Valmiki Gate, Patel Chowk, Sabzi Mandi and will be completed in the ancient temple of Basti Adda Bhagwan Valmiki Ji in Ali Mohalla.
A large number of devotees are expected to participate in the procession, due to which the Commissionerate Police has diverted routes to manage the traffic, which includes Nakodar Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Shri Ram Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Shastri Market Chowk, Mod Pratap Bagh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur Chowk, Tanda Chowk, Tanda Railway Gate, T Point Gopal Nagar, Old Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Jail Chowk, Patel Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk, T Point Shakti Nagar, Football Chowk etc.
Entry of common vehicles will be closed on the route of the procession from 10 am to 10 pm. The Commissionerate Police has requested that no vehicle should be brought on the route of the procession so that the system remains in place.
