True Scoop celebrates International Youth Day with DAV University students; initiates open dialogue on youth-centric issues

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with True Scoop, Jalandhar, organized a special programme to highlight this year’s theme.

DAV University, Jalandhar, marked International Youth Day with a vibrant celebration emphasizing the pivotal role of youth in nation-building. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, in collaboration with True Scoop, Jalandhar, organized a special programme to highlight this year’s theme.

In her keynote address, Ms Khyati Kohli spoke about the profound impact and contributions of media in modern society. She underlined the necessity of acquiring accurate information in the present digital era. She portrayed digital media as a transformative force capable of connecting individuals and amplifying voices that have historically been marginalized.

True Scoop also organised interactive sessions- Reporting 101, Fact Check Quiz and Youth Dialogue & awareness of fact checking. Not only this, but three winners of Reporting 101 were also awarded by True Scoop. 

Dr. Geetika Nagrath, Dean, Commerce, Business Management and Economics and Humanities, reaffirmed the university’s dedication to empowering and developing young minds, emphasizing a holistic approach to student growth.

The event featured several engaging and entertaining activities for students, including reporting, youth dialogue, and "Identify the Fake News" segment. A photography and a video competition were also organised to mark the occasion. 

Various dignitaries including Mr Rakesh Behal, Chief Editor True Scoop, were also present at the occasion.
