Giving relief from the rising prices of milk, following Amul, now the cooperative organization Verka has also reduced the price of its milk. Verka has reduced the price of one rupee on one litre packing of Verka Standard Milk and Verka Full Cream Milk.
These new rates will be applicable from 26th January. As per the new prices applicable from Sunday, Verka full cream milk will now be available at Rs 61 per litre, while Verka standard milk will be available at Rs 67 per litre. Previously, Verka full cream milk was available at Rs 62 and standard milk at Rs 68 per litre.
Verka Amritsar's General Manager Harminder Singh Sandhu said that Verka milk is balanced and nutritious. It is rich in Vitamin A and D. He said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the demand of the consumers.
Last Saturday, Amul had reduced the price of its products like Amul Gold, Amul Taza and T Special Milk. This step was taken to provide relief to the customers.
Amul had also reduced its prices by Rs 1. This initiative of Verka and Amul is expected to provide some relief to the common consumers.
Previously, the Chief Minister has also dedicated an ultra-modern Verka Dairy milk plant at Ludhiana with capacity to process nine lakh litre milk daily. This plant also has capacity of catering 10 metric ton butter. The massive efforts of state government to give remunerative price to milk producers, expansion of Verka mill plants and launch of new products has strengthened the Milkfed.
