Punjab Government has intensified their War On Drugs campaign and has resorted to bulldozer action against drug peddlers in the state. On Tuesday night, a team of Punjab Police demolished the house of a notorious drug smuggler with a bulldozer. A video of this action has also surfaced, in which the officers who arrived with the bulldozer are ordering that the house be demolished. Punjab Police took this action in Talwandi area. The house of Talwandi's drug mafia Sonu was demolished. Sonu was involved in drug smuggling for three years, and 6 FIRs have been registered against him in various police stations in Punjab.
The bulldozer action of the Punjab Police continued on Thursday. Bulldozer action was carried out on the houses of three women drug peddlers in the state. Police demolished the houses of active smuggler Rinki in Patiala, drug smuggler Asha in Rupnagar, and another female smuggler in Ludhiana.
In Patiala, in Rodi Kutt Mohalla under Kotwali police station, the police demolished the two-story house illegally built by drug smuggler Rinki from the black money of drugs with the help of a bulldozer. 10 cases are registered against Rinki. SSP Dr. Nanak Singh said that Rinki had illegally occupied the land of the ancient Vaman Avatar temple and built a house. The woman could not produce documents related to the construction of this building.
In the Sadavrat area of Rupnagar, the police demolished the illegal house of drug smuggler Asha, wife of Salim Muhammad.
Punjab Govt 5-member Cabinet Committee to monition on actions taken against drugs
Punjab Government on Thursday took a bold and big step under their War on Drugs campaign. The Mann government formed a five-member Cabinet Committee to prevent drugs. The primary role of the committee will be to monitor the action being taken against drugs. The committee will be headed by Harpal Cheema. Aman Arora, Balbir Singh, Laljit Singh Bhullar, and Taranpreet Sondh will be members of the committee
Furthermore, CM Mann called a High-Level meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Punjab and SSPs in Chandigarh on Friday.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann convened a high-level meeting with DCs and SSPs of the state in Chandigarh. The Meeting was called under the leadership of the Chief Minister to finalize a multi-dimensional strategy aimed at combating drug abuse. The meeting focused on developing a comprehensive action plan to tackle the growing menace of drugs in the region.
Key officials, including the Deputy Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), were directed to collaborate closely for effective execution. The Deputy Commissioners have also been instructed to transform the anti-drug movement into a mass campaign, engaging the public in the fight against drug abuse. On the ground, district-level operations will be launched with full force to combat the drug problem and to eradicate this menace from the region.
