During an event in Atlanta, Hrithik Roshan announced that War 2 will be released in theaters on August 14, 2205. It means War 2 will hit the theaters on the occasion of Indian Independence Day. Hrithik has shared that the shoot is almost complete, with just one song—featuring Jr NTR—left to be filmed. For the unversed, Hrithik's last movie Fighter was released on the occasion of Republic Day 2024 and it went on to become a blockbuster success. On the other hand, War 1 featured Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff locking horns. It also went on to become a success and hence it forced the makers to renew the movie for part 2 but this time with different star cast apart from Hrithik.

During the event, when an anchor asked him for an update on War 2. Hrithik responded, "Bohut darr raha tha main ki part 2 kaisi hogi (I was very afraid about how the sequel would turn out), but I have to say I am extremely proud of this film. Ek gaana bacha hai bas, the film is shot. And that song is with Jr NTR, which I’m going back now to film. I hope I do well. I’m nervous—and he’s amazing. But this film will be bigger and better than part 1. So wish me luck."
