The driver of the car of a wedding procession was shot by 3 people in Moga, Punjab on Friday morning. He was brought to the hospital for treatment where considering his critical condition, he was referred to Ludhiana. The injured has been identified as Navdeep Singh, a resident of Old Moga.
According to reports, Navdeep was to take the wedding procession from near Wagah Purana. He decorated the car for the occasion from a shop in Moga. Two people boarded his car as he was leaving the shop. These people told him that they were also going to the wedding.
According to Navdeep, when he was driving, a young man riding a bike started to drive alongside him. He did not pay much attention to this. Near Singhawala village, he was shot twice by his two passengers. After this, those two people fled on the bike that was being driven alongside the car.
After this the injured person called his friend. The friend said that he got a call from Navdeep informing him that he was shot near Singha Wala. The friend reached the spot in his car and took Navdeep to the government hospital. Investigating officer Iqbal Hussain said that the condition of the injured is still critical. The incident is being investigated.
