However, Kishor also pointed out that Brand Modi is declining and slowly feelings towards anti incumbent are increasing. Kishor also stated that although people are not happy with Modi they are surely not angry with Modi. The former political strategist who has worked with BJP, and also the TMC, outlined that people are not considering Rahul Gandhi as the replacement for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During an interview with Brakha Dutt, Prashant Kishor also talked about the hits and misses of Modi. Below is what are PM Modi's hits and misses-
What are PM Modi's hits and misses?
Talking to the veteran journalist, Prashant Kishor said, "It is not like everyone is happy with BJP's governance. But, there are a few good things that happened under the leadership of Modi. On the ground, people say that India's image has improved in the world under Modi's leadership, the internal security of India has improved, and people are genuinely supporting Modi over India's increasing respect on global platforms around the world. Top-level corruption has been lowered. India's infrastructure and roads have also improved."
"But, there is also another side of truth. As per RBI's report, 60 percent of people's economic conditions have worsened. Rural distress is a very big issue. MANREGA which has been abolished slowly and steadily, a study needs to be done that it has caused distress or not. Unemployment, inflation, petrol, and diesel are indeed impacting people. Prices of manure have increased, and people have problems with it,. Prices of petrol or diesel have been increased, people have issues with it. Discussions about the prices of LPG cylinders are going on in every household."
"But, to convert the anger of people into votes, you need some formation. For example, a dust storm is going on and your cycle is punctured. If you hold the cycle in the wind, that will not resolve the issue. For that, you need to make a system. Therefore, how much ever anger or disappointment is there on the ground, till the opposition does not make a formation to channelize those into votes, til then they can't achieve success," added Prashant Kishor.
