Who is Arion Kurtaj?
As per reports, Arion Kurtaj, 18, is the person behind the leaking of GTA 6 Trailer. As per UK media reports, Arion Kurtaj is an 18-year-old hacker who is part of the notorious international group Lapsus$. The 18-year-old hacker hails from Oxford and has been diagnosed with autism. Before leaking the GTA VI Trailer, Arion Kurtaj's name was linked in multiple cyber attack cases on tech companies like Uber, Nvidia, and Rockstar Games, collectively causing nearly USD 10 million in damages.
During a court hearing, it was revealed that Arion Kurtaj leaked GTA VI trailer while on bail from a Travelodge hotel. Due to his autistic condition, psychiatrists deemed Arion Kurtaj not fit to stand trial and therefore, the 18-year-old did not appear in court to give evidence. It is pertinent to mention here that apart from Arion Kurtaj another 17-year-old who is also autistic was convicted for his involvement in the activities of the Lapsus$ gang but cannot be named because of his age. The Lapsus$ from the UK, and allegedly Brazil, was described in court as "digital bandits".
Although no ransom was paid to Arion Kurtaj and his aide, both of them used stolen SIM details from five victims to steal a total of nearly £100,000 from their cryptocurrency accounts which were secured by their compromised mobile phone SIM identities. It is worth mentioning that Arion Kurtaj and the 17-year-old were initially arrested on 22nd January 2022. However, they were released and are now under investigation.
As of now, Arion Kurtaj has been sentenced to spend his life in a hospital prison. Prosecutors informed the court that Arion was "caught red-handed" when City of London Police searched his hotel room.

Another user wrote, "Kid that leaked GTA 6 sentenced to indefinite imprisonment in a secure hospital. Mental health assessment states that hacker Arion Kurtaj “continued to express the intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible. He is highly motivated."
