The Andhra Pradesh Government on Sunday suspended three IPS Officers after actress & model Kadambari Jethwani filed a case against them for keeping her in confinement for three days illegally and then producing her in court. The three Andhra IPS Officers suspended are- P. Sitharama Anjaneyulu, then Director General of Police, Intelligence; Kanthi Rana Tata, the then Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada, and Vishal Gunni, then Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada. Kadambari Jethwani in her complaint accused the IPS Officers of allegedly harassing her and her father at the instance of a leader of YSR Congress, which was then the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh. Reports suggest that the YSR Congress leader is none other than K V Vidyasagar Rao who also happens to be a film producer. Who is Kadambari Jethwani?
Kadambari Jethwani, 28, is a Mumbai-basaed model and actress. Kadambari Jethwani studied at elite schools in Ahmedabad and earned a Visharad in Bharatnatyam. After moving to Mumbai for her mother’s job, a meeting with a director led to her debut in the Hindi film "Sadda Adda." She later starred in Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Punjabi films including Ouija (Kannada), Aata (Telugu), I Love Me (Malayalam), and Oh Yaara Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut Gaya (Punjabi).

Why the IPS Officers are suspended?
As per reports, Sitharama Anjaneyulu has been suspended on allegations of misuse of power and grave misconduct. He had allegedly instructed the other two officials to arrest the actress, even before a formal crime had been registered. There are allegations that Kanthi Rana Tata arrested Kadambari Jethwani based on oral instructions from his superior on January 31, 2024, before the registration of the FIR on February 2.
He booked flights for officers to Mumbai for the arrest without proper written instructions or due investigation. His actions were deemed to be misconduct and dereliction of duty. On the other hand, Vishal Gunni failed to properly examine the complaint before proceeding with the arrest. He too acted on oral instructions and traveled to Mumbai to arrest the actress without written orders or sufficient evidence.
The 28-year-old actress also alleged that she and her family members threatened to withdraw a case against the YSRCP leader registered at Bandra Kurla Police Station in Mumbai on her complaint. A case of cheating and forgery was registered against the actress and her parents at Ibrahimpatnam Police Station in Andhra Pradesh on a complaint by Vidyasagar. The YSRCP leader had alleged that she fabricated documents for five acres of land and extorted Rs 5 lakh from him.
