Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala on Tuesday came at loggerheads with Dhruv Rathee after he shared the YouTuber's video saying 'Bangladesh setting a positive example' After Shehzad Poonawala shared Dhruv Rathee's video on Bangladesh it became,e viral in no time and a section of social media users slammed the YouTuber over his bizarre comparison between India and Bangladesh especially when the Bangla country is under chaos and its PM Sheikh Hasina has resigned and is living under Indian government protection. 

In the viral video shared by the BJP Spokesperson, Dhruv Rathee can be heard saying, "Bangladesh has left behind India in many parameters or is about to leave behind. In today's time, Bangladesh is setting a big positive example on its neighbouring country that how development can be done on the ground. The people of Bangladesh are happier than the Indians."

Poonawala shared the video with the caption, "Joker of the century!"

After Dhruv Rathee's Bangladesh video went viral on social media, the YouTuber responded sharply saying, "This is a 4 year old video...Everything said in this video was accurate back then based on the latest data. You are only proving your own stupidity by sharing it out of context and trying to mislead your followers."

True Scoop News tried to dig deep into Dhruv Rathee's Bangladesh video and it found out that the YouTuber shared the video in 2020 with a title 'Is Bangladesh better than India now? | Dhruv Rathee'. Rathee made a video in the context of the IMF Report that had forecasted that Bangladesh will soon surpass India in terms of GDP per Capita. 

The 2020 IMF report that was the base of Dhruv Rathee's video, according to it in 2020 per capita GDP of Bangladesh will be USD 1,887.97 at current prices. India will have a per capita GDP of USD 1,877 in 2020. The same report had also projected that in 2021 India will see a rise of its per capita GDP by 8.8 percent while Bangladesh will see a rise of 4.4 percent. As a result, in 2021 India's per capita GDP will reach USD 2,030 and Bangladesh's USD 1,990.
