With the onset of December, the peak winter season is yet to knock on the doors of Punjab and other states of India. Punjab Winters which is famous for shivering people to their core is likely to intensify in the upcoming days, especially after a light drizzle in some parts of Amritsar on December 3, 2024.
On Tuesday morning i.e. on December 3, 2024; there was light drizzle in some areas of Amritsar, due to which the weather started to become chillier. According to the Meteorological Center, the Western Disturbance Turf has become active on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, but it is in a very weak state, due to which there has been light rain this morning.
Although December has started, the cold has not yet gained much strength. Due to bright sunshine in other cities, heat is also felt during the afternoon. It is being said that rain and snowfall have been predicted in some areas of Himachal Pradesh today, which will also affect the weather of Punjab and the temperature may drop slightly. Although there has been drizzle in the border areas today, there is very little chance of rain in Punjab in the coming days.

IMD Chandigarh issued an official release in which it published the minimum temperature of different cities of Punjab. On December 3, 2024, Pathankot (AWS) was the coldest with a minimum temperature of 7.8 °C. Below is a list of cities and minimum temperatures that were recorded-
