In a disturbing incident, an 18-year-old girl studying at a famous university in Jalandhar died by suicide recently. Originally hailing from Ferozepur, the deceased was living with her aunt in Jalandhar Heights. Jalandhar Heights is one of the posh residential societies of the city. As per reports, the girl was found hanging from a fan inside her room. The deceased has been identified as Kirandeep Kaur, daughter of Desvir Singh, resident near Ganga Mandir, Ferozepur.
Cops of Jalandhar Heights police post have taken the body of the deceased in their custody and started an investigation. Police post-in-charge Gurvinder Singh Virk reportedly said that Kirandeep's father had died some time ago and her mother was also not there, due to which she was living in her aunt's house and was studying at C.T. College.
The police post in charge said that the police are investigating the entire case in detail. The deceased's family members are coming from Ferozepur. Only after their arrival, the legal action will be taken and Kirandeep Kaur's post-mortem will be conducted. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital.
Notably, multiple cases of suicide have come to the fore in Jalandhar. First, an employee of the travel agency Om Visa jumped to death from fourth floor of the AGI Building near the Bus Stand. Thereafter, a girl from Jalandhar studying in Class 12 died by suicide after chatting with her friend on WhatsApp. Thereafter, a woman working as a house help at a former Congress council Rohan Sehgal's home allegedly died by suicide. The incident took place in Jalandhar's Shiv Vihar area. It means Kirandeep Kaur's suicide is the fourth case in the past few days in Jalandhar.
