In Patiala, Punjab, a youth’s social media reel featuring a pistol has led to his arrest. The video went viral, attracting the attention of the police cyber security wing. The police from Model Town Station, Patiala, registered a case and apprehended the individual.
SHO Amritpal of Thane's Model Town Station confirmed the identity of the youth as Jagseer Khan from Village Jhandi in Patiala district. The video, posted on Jagseer’s Instagram account, showed him holding a pistol in each hand while a song played in the background.
When the police questioned Jagseer, he refused to give them a license for the guns that were visible on camera. The police then began to prosecute him in line with Section 30 of the new rules, B.N. While Jagseer is in custody, additional research is being done to find out more about the weapons he displayed.
The Punjab Police are taking aggressive action against anyone who posts images or videos of themselves brandishing weapons on social media. To keep an eye on these types of online activities, a dedicated wing has been formed. There are legal repercussions for those who engage in such behavior, according to a strong warning from the police.
