Virat Kohli on Friday morning began his 100th test match. To facilitate him for this achievement, he was given a memento in the form of a cap from India’s head coach Rahul Dravid. Anushka Sharma joined Virat Kohli during this facilitation.
Anushka wore a white ruffled top and beige pants. After receiving the memento, Kohli handed over it to Anushka saying, “Ye le jao please”.
Kohli shared, “It's a special moment for me. My wife is here with me; my brother is there in the stands. It's a team game and the journey wouldn't have been possible without you guys. Thanks to BCCI too. I couldn't have received it from a better person, my childhood hero. I still have that picture with you from my U-15 days.”
Till now, only 71 players have played 100 or more test matches, and Kohli is the only 12th Indian to attain this record. “It's well deserved, it's well earned. As we say in the dressing room, double it up,” said Dravid.
Kohli made his Test debut in 2011. He reached the number one spot in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen for the first time in 2013. He is ranked as one of the world's most famous athletes by ESPN and one of the most valuable athlete brands by Forbes. In 2020, he was ranked 66th in Forbes list of the top 100 highest-paid athletes in the world for the year 2020 with estimated earnings of over $26 million.
